Skin Cancer Screenings

Skin cancer screenings may be recommended for individuals with higher risk factors, including certain physical characteristics (such as fair skin or many moles), a personal or family history of skin cancer, significant sun exposure, or other medical risk factors. During the visit, a dermatologist performs a careful head-to-toe examination to evaluate moles, spots, and other skin lesions for concerning features. If an area appears suspicious, a biopsy or further evaluation can be performed to determine whether treatment is necessary.
